What I Want a Personal Coaching Conversation to Make Room for
I think a useful personal coaching conversationbegins with room to speak honestly. A person may arrive with a clear goal, several questions, or a feeling that something needs to change without knowing exactly what it is yet.
My understanding of coaching includes time to explore that starting point. I am interested in what matters to the person, what feels difficult, and what has already been considered. Those details can make a conversation more useful than beginning with a ready-made answer.
I also think choice matters throughout the process. A goal needs to make sense in the person's actual life, including the time, responsibilities, and energy available. A plan can sound appealing and still need more thought before it feels realistic.
There may also be questions about whether coaching is the right fit. I believe those questions deserve a direct conversation, including the limits of the work and whether another kind of service would be more appropriate.
As I reflect on personal development, I want the conversation to leave room for understanding and honest decisions. I am interested in what becomes possible when a person has time to think aloud without having to pretend that everything is already clear.
A Few Questions I Am Often Asked
What actually happens in a personal coaching session?
We talk. You bring whatever is on your mind, a goal, a question, or a feeling that something needs to change, and we make room to understand it together. Sessions are one hour, held virtually, and shaped around what matters to you.
How do I know if coaching is the right fit?
A direct conversation is the best way. I am happy to talk through what you are looking for, the limits of the work, and whether another kind of support would serve you better. The International Coaching Federationalso describes what professional coaching is and is not.
Do you offer coaching in person in Phoenix?
Coaching sessions are virtual, so you can join from anywhere. If you are local to Phoenix, Arizona and interested in in-person sound or energy work, those private sessionstake place at the Empower House Community Gathering Space in North Phoenix.
