What I Mean When I Say Personal Development

Personal development is one of those phrases that can mean everything and nothing. I use it carefully, and I want to tell you what I mean by it.

To me, personal development is the practice of knowing yourself on purpose. Noticing your patterns, naming what you actually want, and choosing how you respond to your own life. It is ordinary work, done with attention.

It is not about becoming a different person. Most of the people I talk with do not need reinvention. They need room to hear themselves think and a little structure to act on what they hear.

That is what my sessions are for. We sit down together for one hour and work on whatever is most alive for you. Sometimes that is a decision. Sometimes it is a habit. Sometimes it is saying the true thing out loud for the first time.

As I reflect on the phrase, I think its heart is simple. You are allowed to take your own life seriously. A personal development session is one hour set aside to do exactly that.

What is personal development coaching?

It is a structured conversation about your own life, with a partner whose only agenda is your growth. The International Coaching Federation sets the professional standards I hold my work to.

Who is coaching for?

Anyone standing at a decision point, feeling stuck, or sensing that something wants to change. You do not need a crisis to benefit. Curiosity is reason enough.

Where are you located?

I am based in Phoenix, Arizona, and coaching sessions are virtual, so we can work together from anywhere. For locals, I also offer in-person sound and energy work through my private sessions.
